Sr. Systems Analyst

Objectives:
We are searching for a motivated Senior Systems Analyst and Leader with solid experience in the areas of architecture definition and functional, interface, performance, and operational requirements definition and analysis to lead our system engineering activities for the Zoombak wireless device tracking services and solutions. The candidate must have strong systems engineering skills, preferably in the specification of application, web, back office, and wireless mobile device architectures and services.  The Sr. Systems Analyst will lead Zoombak’s system engineering activities and be a key contributor in all phases of the development lifecycle.  The candidate will work closely with our Marketing and Business Development teams and partner/vendor software, hardware, and integration teams to define solutions in support of system development and launch objectives.  In this role, you will define and manage the system architecture and specification, UML models, and segment interface specifications for a new wireless GPS-based consumer service initiative, be responsible for providing technical oversight and guidance to our development teams, and be responsible for overall system engineering management and schedule commitments.

Candidates should be senior architects or systems analysts with proven experience in defining system architectures and requirements, solving challenging technical problems, and driving standards that are part of the architecture.  Professional attributes should include a successful track record following system engineering principles and implementing innovative solutions, strong communications skills, mentoring skills and customer and partner relationship management skills.

Responsibilities:
Lead all aspects of the system engineering process, including, but not limited to: analyzing business and technical requirements, architecting a solution around those requirements, developing UML models, developing functional/interface/performance specifications, and providing technical support and guidance through system development, integration, and testing phases.

As the system architect and analyst for the system, develop and manage the definition of the requirements from start to finish.

Day to day responsibilities include reviewing service and product requirements from business development and marketing teams, performing architecture and requirements analysis, developing UML models, and deriving and developing system, interface, performance, and OAM&P requirements, reviewing system and component designs, reviewing integration and test plans, and providing technical support and guidance to the development teams and partners.

Investigate and evaluate new and emerging technologies.

Vendor and/or partner technical evaluations.

Develop patent ideas.

Experience:
Extensive experience analyzing business and marketing requirements and deriving UML models and system functional/interface/performance/OAM&P requirements.

Proven experience in applying engineering principles and techniques to architecture and requirements development.

Experience in design and development of application frameworks.

Experience with Object Oriented Analysis and Design and UML.

Well-versed in system modeling & tools, use case analysis, activity diagrams and sequence diagrams, requirements traceability, etc.

Experience with Rational RequisitePro and Software Architect tools, or similar requirements development tools.

Working knowledge of performance issues with clients/server networks, distributed servers/databases, wireless application environments, etc.

Experience developing and deploying wireless client/server applications

Experience in service and product development lifecycle process from concept to deployment to redesign.

Knowledge and working experience with wireless architectures, Web Services, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), HTML, TCP/IP, HTTP, XML, SQL, Network Protocols, Security Protocols, Wireless Protocols, Wireless Multimedia Content, Web Servers and Application servers.

Experience with distributed technologies, preferably client/server and web-based architectures and platforms.

Practical experience developing application requirements in a wireless ISP/ASP environment or similar multi-component application and/or wireless network environment.

Experience with system integration and testing is a strong plus.

Experience with performance testing.

Strong analytical skills.

Demonstrated leadership experience in previous work assignments.

Previous experience in a startup or post-startup or small company environment is a strong plus.

Qualifications:    

B.S. or M.S. in Engineering is strongly preferred.

5-10 years systems engineering.

Object Oriented Analysis and Design and UML modeling experience.

3-5 years of relevant experience in integration and testing of application or wireless services and/or products.

Mobile application experience is a plus.

Proven experience with full development lifecycle.

Professional working knowledge of network and security protocols and techniques (TCP/IP, HTTP, HTML, XML, TLS).

Ability to assess program needs and define solutions.

Strong leadership skills and creative thinker.

Ability to effectively interface with internal staff, partners, and vendors.

Strong oral, written and presentation skills.

Strong organizational skills.

Must be a self-starter with strong problem solving skills.
